Laeviprosopon was named by Glaessner (1933) [Sepkoski's age data: J Tith-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Prosopon laeve.
It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Prosopidae by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2008), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Franţescu (2011), Schweitzer et al. (2012); and to Homoloidea by van Bakel et al. (2021).
