Taxonomy
Leucosia was named by Weber (1795) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi R]. It is extant. It is the type genus of Leucosiidae, Leucosioidea, Leucosiinae.
It was assigned to Oxystomata by Martin (1879); to Leucosidae by Deraniyagala (1968); to Leucosiidae by Morris and Collins (1991) and Karasawa (1993); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Leucosiinae by Collins et al. (2003), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Karasawa et al. (2019).
It was assigned to Oxystomata by Martin (1879); to Leucosidae by Deraniyagala (1968); to Leucosiidae by Morris and Collins (1991) and Karasawa (1993); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Leucosiinae by Collins et al. (2003), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Karasawa et al. (2019).
