Taxonomy
Liocaris was named by van Straelen (1925) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo]. It is not extant. Its type is Liocaris quadratus.

It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002), Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Pylochelidae by Pazinato et al. (2016), Schweitzer et al. (2023).
