Pyreneplax sandersi
Taxonomy
Eohalimede saundersi was named by Blow and Manning (1997). Its type specimen is ChM PI 15210, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southern Aggregates Orangeburg Quarry (Santee Limestone), which is in a Lutetian offshore shelf limestone in the Santee Limestone Formation of South Carolina.
It was corrected as Eohalimede sandersi by Blow and Manning (1998); it was recombined as Lobonotus sandersi by Schweitzer et al. (2002), Schweitzer et al. (2007), Schweitzer et al. (2010); it was recombined as Pyreneplax sandersi by Ossó et al. (2014).
