Taxonomy
Tumidocarcinus dentatus was named by Glaessner (1960). Its type specimen is NZGS DC 143, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wharekuri Creek, which is in a Duntroonian offshore shelf sandstone in the Kokoamu Greensand Formation of New Zealand.
