Taxonomy
Parachatiania expansa was named by Yuan and Yin (1998). It is not extant. Its type locality is Yangweizhou-Jimachong, Blackwelderia zone, which is in a Guzhangian slope limestone in the Chefu Formation of China.
It was recombined as Chatiania expansa by Peng et al. (2004).
