Lobonotus orientalis
Taxonomy
Lobonotus orientalis was named by Collins and Morris (1978). Its type specimen is BMNH In.48245, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is South of Nila Kund, which is in a Ypresian coastal shale/limestone in the Ghazij Formation of Pakistan. It is the type species of Pakicarcinus.
It was recombined as Pakicarcinus orientalis by Schweitzer et al. (2004), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Charbonnier et al. (2013), Schweitzer et al. (2021).
