Taxonomy
Mesogalathea was named by Housa (1963) [Sepkoski's age data: J u K u]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Paragalathea by Bishop (1985).

It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Galatheidae by Housa (1963), Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Paragalatheidae by Robins et al. (2016), Schweitzer et al. (2023).
