Mursiopsis was named by Ristori (1889) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Mursiopsis pustulosus.
It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Calappidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010), Schweitzer and Feldmann (2019).
