Taxonomy
Comptaluta was named by Opik (1968) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tojo-u Cm mMid Sepkoski's reference number: 129,131]. It is the type genus of Comptalutidae, Comptalutinae.
It was assigned to Archaeocopida by Bengtson (1992); to Ostracoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Comptalutinae by Jones and Laurie (2006); and to Arthropoda by Bambach et al. (2007).
