Taxonomy
Mesoparapylocheles michaeljacksoni was named by Fraaije et al. (2012). It is not extant. Its type locality is Koskobilo quarry, Alsasua, which is in an Albian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Eguino Formation of Spain. It is the type species of Mesoparapylocheles.
