Ivia was named by Schallreuter (1984) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llvi-u O Cara-u Sepkoski's reference number: 855]. It is not extant. Its type is Isochilina nelsoni.

It was assigned to Kiaeriidae by Schallreuter (1984); and to Leperditicopida by Sepkoski (2002).
