Taxonomy
Chilobolbina was named by Ulrich and Bassler (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-u O Cara-l Sepkoski's reference number: 2,78,999]. Its type is Primitia dentifera. It is the type genus of Chilobolbinidae.

It was assigned to Primitiidae by Henningsmoen (1953); to Chilobolbininae by Jaanusson (1957); to Chilobolbinidae by Benson et al. (1961); and to Palaeocopida by Sepkoski (2002).
