Taxonomy
Palaeopagurus vandenengeli was named by Fraaije (2003). Its type specimen is MAB k.0012 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Speeton, bed C4, which is in a Hauterivian marine claystone in the Speeton Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
