Ctenoloculina was named by Bassler (1941) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-u D Give]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Hollinidae by Kesling and McMillan (1951) and Benson et al. (1961); and to Palaeocopida by Sepkoski (2002).
