Pullenia was named by Parker and Jones (1862) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 79]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Seabrookiinae by Cushman (1927); to Chilostomellidae by Wienrich (1997); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
