Taxonomy
Neoamphissites was named by Becker and Wang (1992) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. Its type is Neoamphissites costatus.

It was assigned to Palaeocopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Amphissitidae by Yi (2004).
