Acmarhachis kindlei was named by Westrop and Eoff (2012) [Reassigned specimens of Acmarhachis acuta in Rasetti 1961, p. 109, pl. 23, figs 1, 4-8 [ONLY]]. Its type specimen is GSC 134590, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hickey Cove HC 202, which is in a Steptoean shallow subtidal conglomerate in the Shallow Bay Formation of Canada.
