Chelonia hoffmanni
Taxonomy
Chelonia hoffmanni was named by Gray (1831). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is ENCI-Maastricht B.V. quarry (Nekum), which is in a Maastrichtian shallow subtidal chalk in the Maastricht Formation of the Netherlands.
It was recombined as Allopleuron hoffmanni by Dollo (1909); it was recombined as Allopleuron hofmanni by Karl (2007).
