Taxonomy
Saffordellina was named by Bassler and Kellett (1934) [Sepkoski's age data: O m]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Saffordellinoidea, Saffordellinidae.

It was assigned to Isochilinidae by Abushik et al. (1960), Berdan (1984), Vannier et al. (2001); to Palaeocopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Saffordellinidae by Liebau (2005).
