Taxonomy
Rhynchonella productifrons was named by Bittner (1890). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Schreyeralm (Geol Reichsanstalt coll), which is in an Illyrian carbonate limestone in the Schreyeralm Formation of Austria.
It was recombined as Volirhynchia productifrons by Dagys (1974).
