Taxonomy
Entomozoe was named by Pribyl (1950) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-u P Asse]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Entomozoinae.

It was assigned to Entomozoinae by Benson et al. (1961); to Myodocopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Bolbozoidae by Siveter and Lane (1999), Siveter and Bogolepova (2006).

D. J. Siveter and O. K. Bogolepova 2006Large bolbozoid having a vertical adducto- rial sulcus, curved forward below a moderately sized anteroventral node. Slight anterior indentation in shell outline and rostral incisure present. Adductor muscle scar consists of series of alternating ridges and furrows forming biserial-radial, feather-like pattern. Surface smooth to weakly punctate-reticulate (modified from Siveter & Vannier 1990).
