Euphoberia was named by Meek and Worthen (1868). It is the type genus of Euphoberidae.
It was assigned to Euphoberidae by Scudder (1890) and Baldwin (1911); and to Euphoberiidae by Pruvost (1930), Hoffman (1969) and Štamberg and Zajíc (2008).
