Elkemys australis

Taxonomy
Mongolemys australis was named by Yeh (1974). Its type specimen is IVPP V3107, a partial shell (Posterior 2/3 of the shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chishapai, Hokou (IVPP Loc. 63084), which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Shanghu Formation of China.

It was recombined as Elkemys australis by Danilov (1999), Sukhanov (2000), Brinkman et al. (2008) and Danilov et al. (2012).
