Taxonomy
Pronorites arkansasensis was named by Smith (1896) [Pronorites cyclolobus var. arkansasensis]. It is the type species of Pseudopronorites.

It was recombined as Stenopronorites arkansasensis by McCaleb (1963); it was recombined as Stenopronorites arkansiensis by Gordon (1964), Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971); it was recombined as Pseudopronorites arkansiensis by Nassichuk (1975).
