Retispira nodocostata

Taxonomy
Bellerophon nodocostatus was named by Gurley (1884). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Upper Coal Measures near Oakwood, which is in a Missourian carbonate limestone in the Sturgis Formation of Illinois.

It was recombined as Patellostium nodocostatum by Girty (1899); it was recombined as Patellostium nodicostatum by Girty (1909); it was recombined as Bucanopsis nodocostata by Weller (1929); it was recombined as Knightites (Retispira) nodocostata by Yochelson (1960); it was recombined as Retispira nodocostata by Wagner (2023).
