Taxonomy
Darvasites compactus was named by Leven (1992). Its type specimen is GGM VI-213/141, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Charymdara River, sample D5, which is in a Sakmarian shallow subtidal limestone in the Khoridzhskaya Formation of Tajikistan.
