Taxonomy
Deflandrecyrtium pessagnoi was named by Tekin (1999). Its type specimen is Pl. 30, fig. 11 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 97-UKT-133/98-UKT-51, Yaylakuzdere measured section II, Alakircay Nappe, which is in a Tuvalian/Lacian basinal (carbonate) shale in the Gokdere Formation of Türkiye.
