Taxonomy
Acrolepis molyneuxi was named by Woodward (1903). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a compression fossil.

It was recombined as Namaichthys molyneuxi by Gardiner (1962); it was synonymized subjectively with Namaichthys digitata by Schultze et al. (2021).
