Homorophus insuetus
Taxonomy
Homorophus insuetus was named by Cope (1869). Its type specimen is LOST, a partial shell (Cope does not state what parts of the shell he had, but he describes some neural bones, the entoplastron, the hyoplastron, the hypoplastron, and some costals. H), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pemberton Marl Company pit (Hornerstown), which is in a Maastrichtian marginal marine marl in the Hornerstown Formation of New Jersey. It is the type species of Homorophus.
