Longrich 2014 | Chasmosaurine ceratopsid exhibiting the following derived characters: premaxillary beak triangular, with rostral pointed and apex projecting anteroventrally; narial strut caudally inclined; narial process of premaxilla a triangular, posterodorsally projecting prong. Internal naris tall, narrow and posteriorly inclined. Nasal ornament posteriorly placed. Supraorbital horncores dorsolaterally directed and curving downwards. Lateral temporal fenestrae tall and narrow. Parietosquamosal frill short, with small parietal fenestrae. Squamosals strongly curved in lateral view and lateral margins parallel in dorsal view. Parietal does not project past squamosals; posterior margin V-shaped, with emargination spanning the whole width of the parietal. Squamosal epoccipitals increase in size posteriorly. Posterior margin of frill with ten hornlike, forward-curving epoccipitals with prominent sulci and representing p1ep3, an eps, and s1, epiparietals with bases coalesced. |
