Allolepidotus rueppelli

Taxonomy
Pholidophorus rueppelli was named by Bellotti (1857). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Perledo (MCSM collection), which is in a Longobardian marine limestone in the Perledo-Varenna Formation of Italy. It is the type species of Allolepidotus.

It was considered a nomen dubium by López-Arbarello et al. (2014); it was recombined as Allolepidotus rueppelli by Woodward (1895), de Alessandri (1910) and López-Arbarello and Brocke (2024).
