Adamantina was named by Bendix-Almgreen (1993). It is not extant. Its type is Adamantina benedictae.
It was assigned to Elasmobranchii by Ivanov (1999), Ginter et al. (2010); and to Jalodontidae by Ivanov and Lebedev (2014), Cuny and Stemmerik (2018).
