Taxonomy
Orthobairdia jeanlouisi was named by Forel (2012). Its type specimen is P6M3077, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dajiang 05PAJ43, Luodian, which is in a Griesbachian carbonate limestone in the Daye Formation of China.
