Taxonomy
Sellithyris mayuensis was named by Sun (1981). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mayao commune, 76NS7, Xiongmei district, Xaiza County, which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in the Langshan Formation of China.
