Triasacarus was named by Lindquist and Grimaldi (2012). Its type is Triasacarus fedelei. It is the type genus of Triasacaroidea, Triasacaridae.
It was assigned to Eriophyoidea by Lindquist and Grimaldi (2012); and to Triasacaridae by Lindquist and Sidorchuk (2014).
