Taxonomy
Retzia fastosa was named by Bittner (1890) [Retzia schwagerina var. fastosa].

It was recombined as Neoretzia fastosa by Jin and Fang (1977); it was recombined as Schwagerispira fastosa by Iordan (1993) and Siblik and Bryda (2005).
