Taxonomy
Todralestes variabilis was named by Gheerbrant (1991). Its type specimen is THR 134, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Adrar Mgorn 1, which is in a Thanetian peritidal limestone in the Jbel Guersif Formation of Morocco.
