Taxonomy
Recurvacanthus uniserialis was named by Duffin (1981). Its type specimen is BMNH P.2850 (spine) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lyme Regis, Lower Lias unspecified (BMNH), which is in a Sinemurian marine horizon in the United Kingdom.
