Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
D. S. Rovinsky et al. 2019a mid-sized thylacinid; M1 anterior cingulum well developed, continuous with protocrista, and lacking sulcus for preceding premolar; retention of small metaconule and lack of stylar shelf on M1; M1 with relatively unreduced paracone; retention of entoconid on
all mandibular molars and a small metaconid on M3–4; M1 protoconid centrally located on crown, with the preprotocristid, postprotocristid, and cristid obliqua in line anteroposteriorly; reduction of anterior cingulum present on M1; main cusps of P1–2 anteriorly inclined and vertical on P3; anterior cuspule retained on P1–3; M4 anteroposteriorly shorter in length than preceding molar unlike other species of Thylacinus; coronoid process of the mandibular ramus departs from the corpus at a more acute angle than Thylacinus cynocephalus (~120 vs. ~130).
