Taxonomy
Palaeolama crassa was named by Hoffstetter (1952). Its type specimen is EPN V. 3026, a limb element, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Río Chiche, which is in a Pleistocene lacustrine sandstone/tuff in Ecuador.
