Taxonomy
Fluctuaria specialis was named by Li (1986). Its type specimen is Yichang IGMR 562167 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GP20, Bunuo section, Changme district, Longlin county, which is in a Sakmarian marine horizon in the Longyin Formation of China.
