Cionichthys dunklei
Taxonomy
Cionichthys dunklei was named by Schaeffer (1967). Its type specimen is AMNH 5615, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Big Indian Wash fish locality, which is in a Norian/Rhaetian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Chinle Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Cionichthys.
