Psilatricolpites simplex

Taxonomy

Psilatricolpites simplex was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 62, 3.5 x 103.1, a microspore (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

It was recombined as Ladakhipollenites simplex by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001).

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967	Pollen grain tricolpate, perprolate; furrow C α 2b, C β 3, C γ 1; sculpture type psilate. Thickness of exine < 1 μ, endexine thicker than ectexine. Grain probable tectate, furrows provided with a margo. Polar area rather small.
C. A. Jaramillo and D. L. Dilcher 2001	Psilatricolpate, mid-sized (28 - 32 µm), prolate, nexine thick, columellae indistinct, colpi long, slightly marginate.
