Taxonomy
Retitricolpites bonus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-15-600 (Catatumbo). Loc: 42.7X120.3 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolpate, prolate; furrow C α 2, C β 3b, C γ 1; sculpture type reticulate (-foveolate), with elongated lumina of 9X6 μ; wall semitectate. Furrows with margo. Some otherwise identical grains show pore-like markings. Exine about 2μ thick; ectexine thicker than endexine. Columellae clearly discernible. Polar area about 10.5μ.
