Taxonomy
Foveotricolporites voluminosus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-9-582 (Catatumbo). Loc: 37.8X109.6 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain tricolporate, prolate-subprolate; furrow C α 1, C β 2, C β; pore P α 1, P β 1, P γ 1; sculpture type foveolate (-reticulate); average diameter of lumina 1.2 μ. Thickness of exine about 1.8 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. Wall semitectate. Polar area rather small. Grain apparently provided with costar pori. Furrows have prominent edges, but in most specimens the pores are vague and accompanied by transversal elements.
