Ameranella kewi
Taxonomy
Nyctilochus kewi was named by Dickerson (1915). Its type specimen is UCMP 11054, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 458, Grapevine Creek, which is in a Bartonian marine sandstone/shale in the Tejon Formation of California.
It was recombined as Gyrineum kewi by Anderson and Hanna (1925); it was recombined as Mayena kewi by Nilsen (1987); it was recombined as Ameranella kewi by Beu (1998), Beu (2010).
