Taxonomy
Frechites hamatus was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 28330 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 45655, Hook Lake, which is in an Illyrian marine siliciclastic in the Sulphur Mountain Formation of Canada.
