Reticutriton elsmerensis
Taxonomy
Gyrineum elsmerense was named by English (1914). Its type specimen is UCMP-A.1802/11915, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 1601, Elsmere Canyon, which is in a Pliocene marine sandstone in the Pico Formation of California.
It was recombined as Cymatium elsmerense by Kern (1973); it was recombined as Cymatium (Reticutriton) elsmerense by Beu (1998); it was recombined as Reticutriton elsmerensis by Beu (2010).
