Edingerella madagascariensis

Taxonomy

Benthosuchus madagascariensis was named by Lehman (1961). Its type specimen is MNHN MAE.3003a/b/c, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Madiromiary, which is in an Induan/Smithian deltaic siliciclastic in the Middle Sakamena Formation of Madagascar. It is the type species of Edingerella.

It was recombined as Watsonisuchus madagascariensis by Steyer (2003); it was recombined as Edingerella madagascariensis by Schoch and Milner (2000), Maganuco et al. (2009).

Synonyms

Wetlugasaurus milloti was named by Lehman (1961). Its type specimen is MNHN MAE 3000-3002, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Watsonisuchus madagascariensis by Steyer (2003); it was synonymized subjectively with Edingerella madagascariensis by Schoch and Milner (2000), Maganuco et al. (2009).
Wetlugasaurus lehmani was named by Ochev (1966). It is not extant.
